Top Story: BGR Energy bags Rs 2,168 crore thermal power project

Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company BGR Energy Systems has bagged Rs 2,168 crore balance of plant (BoP) contract from Hyderabad-based Thermal Powertech Corporation of India Ltd. The project, which will set up a 2x660 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Green field, including large coal handling plant, is the 16th BoP contract to be executed by BGR Energy Systems.

The project includes design, engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, assembly inspection, testing, transportation, erection of equipment and civil works at the Supercritical Thermal Power Project at Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project would also comprise of a sea water-based RO plant and Intake Water system for the makeup water to this plant, it said. The company added that besides this project, it is the only company in the private sector to complete and commission BoP of two 500- MW power projects. Two more 500-MW projects are nearing completion and would be shortly commissioned.
