Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has been conferred with the ‘ICSI National Award’ for Excellence in Corporate Governance for 2013 by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). The award certificate and trophy has been received by the company from Arun Jaitely, Minister for Finance, Defence and Corporate Affairs at an award ceremony held in Kolkata on August 24, 2014.
REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
