Tata Metaliks has decided to shut down Mini Blast Furnace 1 (MBF-1) at its plant at Kharagpur, Village Gokulpur, in West Bengal due to relining purpose. The company has decided to shut down MBF-1 for a period of 15 days with the effect from September 01, 2014.
Tata Metaliks was set up as a joint venture between Tata Steel and WBIDC (West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation) to manufacture pig iron at its plant at Kharagpur, West Bengal. It has two plants at present, one located at Kharagpur (West Bengal) and the other at Redi (Maharashtra).
