Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has received the final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) for Donepezil Hydrochloride tablets. Donepezil hydrochloride tablet is the generic equivalent to Aricept tablets Eisai Medical Research Inc.
They are indicated for the treatment of mild, moderate, and severe dementia of the Alzheimer's type and fall under the Central Nervous System therapeutic segment. The product had a market size of approximately $2.5 billion for the 12 months ended September 2010 and the product would be launched soon.
