Hero MotoCorp is reportedly planning to sell more than 12 million two-wheelers by 2020 as the company consolidates its Number one position in global two-wheeler sales. Besides, the company is also developing new bikes and expanding overseas for achieving the target. The company projects at least 10% of the targeted volume for 2020 coming from overseas market. In the fiscal year through March 2015, the company expects sales to grow at a double-digit pace over last year's 6.2 million units.
Hero MotoCorp is the World’s single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
