Tata Power promotes integrated farming practices to boost agricultural yields

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has started a programme in the tribal village of Sarjamda to encourage the local farmers to re-cultivate fallow lands using modern methods. The company has taken this step in an effort to introduce economic prosperity in its neighbouring community by boosting the region’s agricultural productivity.

The company organized 15 local farmers into a Farmer’s Group, and helped the Group to cultivate barren lands that was previously not under cultivation for reasons like lack of irrigation and seed capital for agricultural inputs.

Tata Power is India’s largest integrated power company with a significant international presence. The Company has an installed generation capacity of 8521 MW in India and a presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. Generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), Transmission, Distribution and Trading.
