Indian Hotels sets aside Rs 440 crore for capex over 3 years

Indian Hotels Company has set aside of Rs 440 crore for capital expenditure over the next three years. The hospitality company is planning to have 33 new hotels which would be a combination of greenfield projects and management contracts.

In the last fiscal, the Tata Group company had spent Rs 145.36 crore, largely on projects such as Vivanta by Taj in Dwarka and Guwahati, and the ongoing renovations of the existing hotels.

Recently, the company sold its Blue Sydney property in Australia, which is expected to add to its profitability.

On the consolidated basis, the company reported a net loss after taxes and Minority Interest and Share of Profit of Associates of Rs 34.82 crore for the quarter as compared to net loss of Rs 19.09 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 2.94% at Rs 954.95 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 927.60 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2013.
