Hero MotoCorp is planning to start construction of its new plant in Gujarat soon and will start production from third quarter next year. The company has earlier announced to spend Rs 1,200 crore for this plant.
Meanwhile, the company is also planning to launch 12 new refreshes of products for the festive season this year. The models include refresh versions of its existing scooters and motorcycles in the 100cc, 125cc and 150cc segments.
Further, the company expects to sell better during the festive season this year from last year. It sold more than six-lakh units last year during the 40 days of festive season.
Hero MotoCorp is the World’s single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
