Hero MotoCorp has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the State Government of Andhra Pradesh on September 16, 2014 to set-up a manufacturing plant in Chittoor district of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The plant with an investment of Rs 1600 crores approx will have a production capacity of around 1.8 million per annum.
Hero MotoCorp is the World’s single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
