Tata Metaliks restarts operations at MBF-1 at Kharagpur plant

Tata Metaliks has restarted operations at its Mini Blast Furnace 1 (MBF-1) in its plant at Kharagpur, Village Gokulpur in West Bengal with effect from September 15, 2014. Moreover, the company will be producing standard FG grade from September 19, 2014.

Recently, the company shut down Mini Blast Furnace 1 (MBF-1) at its plant at Kharagpur, Village Gokulpur, in West Bengal due to relining purpose. The company shut down MBF-1 for a period of 15 days with the effect from September 01, 2014.

Tata Metaliks was set up as a joint venture between Tata Steel and WBIDC (West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation) to manufacture pig iron at its plant at Kharagpur, West Bengal. It has two plants at present, one located at Kharagpur (West Bengal) and the other at Redi (Maharashtra).
