Jaiprakash Power Ventures has dropped plans to hive off Bapsa II and Karcham Wangtoo hydro power plants into two separate, wholly-owned subsidiaries. Earlier, the company had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 27, 2014 with Reliance CleanGen (RCL), a 100% subsidiary of Reliance Power for divestment of three Hydro Power Plants namely - Baspa-II, Vishnuprayag and Karcham Wangtoo. However, the exclusivity of the MOU with Reliance Power ends on September 25, 2014.
Jaiprakash Power Ventures is part of India’s leading Infrastructure conglomerate - Jaypee Group. Currently the company operates the largest hydroelectric power plant in the private sector in India.
