Sezal Glass Ltd, manufacturer of float glass and a glass processing company, has formed a 50:50 joint venture with the UK-based CGI International (CGII) that specializes in manufacture and supply of specialist glass, particularly fire-resistant and security products. The joint venture will import and market CGI's fire-rated product, Pyroguard.
Sezal Glass, which has manufacturing plants at Jhagadia (Gujarat) and Silvassa, capital of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, would create a market for Pyroguard in India before considering setting up a manufacturing facility.
The European market for Pyroguard is about Rs 2,000 crore annually. In India, this market is at a nascent stage, particularly as a security add-on. The joint venture, which is currently a marketing tie-up, will be called Sezal Firebaan Glass Pvt Ltd. It expects to generate a market size of Rs 200-300 crore in India in the next three years.
Fire-rated glass can be used in various applications such as fire doors, fire escape corridors in hotels, buildings, industrial applications, server rooms, data centers, shopping malls, commercial spaces and transportation.
