Hero MotoCorp to invest Rs 5,000 crore in plant expansions

Hero MotoCorp is all set to invest Rs 5,000 crore in plant expansions over the next two-three years. The company will invest across the globe, including the manufacturing plants in Columbia and Bangladesh, the new plants coming up at Gujarat (Halol) and Andhra Pradesh and the Hero Global Centre for research and design at Kukas in Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, the company has inaugurated its new plant at Neemrana, Rajasthan, which will have a capacity of 7.50 lakh units a year.

Hero MotoCorp is the World’s single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
