SSWL reports 5% fall in total wheel rim sales in October 2014

Steel Strips Wheels (SSWL) has reported 5% fall in total wheel rim sales in October 2014 at 9.98 lakh as compared to 10.53 lakh in October 2013. The de-growth is on account of lesser number of working days in October as the month had 8 festive holidays and the highest base of last year. Owing to Festive season & state elections holidays in Haryana & Maharashtra the production days were lowered and impacted the sales volume. The cycle will get normalized in the month of November and normalcy will prevail with double digit growth exceeding 20%.

In terms of value, the company has achieved gross turnover of Rs 93.93 crore in October 2014 as compared to Rs 103.69 crore in October 2013, there by recording de-growth of 9.41% and achieved a Net turnover of Rs 84.56 crore in October 2014 as compared to Rs 92.72 crore in October 2013, recording a de-growth of 8.8%.

In segment growth, the company’s Passenger car segment grew by 6% in October 2014 year on year (YoY), while 2 & 3 Wheeler segment volumes grew by 2% in October 2014 YoY. However, the company’s Tractor segment volumes dropped by 28% in October 2014 YoY. Further, Exports fell 43% to 0.80 lakh units in October 2014 as compared to 1.40 lakh units sold same month last year.
