Rural Electrification Corporation reports 35% rise in Q2 net profit

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has reported results for second quarter ended September 30, 2014.

The company has registered 35.11% rise in its net profit at Rs 1500.75 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 1110.73 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased 19.93% at Rs 5066.27 crore for Q2FY15 as compared Rs 4224.25 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
