Rural Electrification Corporation moves up on reporting 35% rise in Q2 net profit

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) is currently trading at Rs. 301.70, up by 0.40 points or 0.13% from its previous closing of Rs. 301.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 304.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 306.00 and Rs. 301.15 respectively. So far 124797 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 383.35 on 07-Jul-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 166.60 on 30-Jan-2014.

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has registered 35.11% rise in its net profit at Rs 1500.75 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 1110.73 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased 19.93% at Rs 5066.27 crore for Q2FY15 as compared Rs 4224.25 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
