M&M’s arm SsangYong Motor sells 11,598 units in October 2014

Mahindra and Mahindra’s (M&M) South Korean subsidiary SsangYong Motor sold a total of 11,598 units in October 2014 - 5,455 units in domestic sales and 6,143 in exports including CKD kits. Although, the company’s monthly sales dropped by 18.6% year-on-year due to reduced shipments affected by the strong won (south korean currency), but returned to the level of 11,000 units in three months helped by sales growth for two consecutive months.

Particularly, the company’s sales have entered a recovery phase by showing continuous month-to-month growth recently. The sales in September increased by 6.7% compared to August and sales in October increased by 11.3% compared to September.

Meanwhile, the company’s monthly exports has recovered the level of 6,000 units in four months since June by increasing by 15.4% compared to September 2014, even though it dropped by 23.6% compared to October 2013.
