Andhra Bank trades higher on the bourses

Andhra Bank is currently trading at Rs. 98.55, up by 0.95 points or 0.97% from its previous closing of Rs. 97.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 98.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 99.85 and Rs. 98.10 respectively. So far 19,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 159.00 on 06-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 79.00 on 29-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 99.90 and Rs. 93.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5,514.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.45% and 13.54% respectively.

Andhra Bank has increased the rate on non-resident external (NRE) term deposits with effect from January 01, 2012. The bank has revised the rate of interest for deposits for a period of one year to 9.40% per annum.

Similarly, the bank has revised the rates for a period of more than one year up to and inclusive of two year to 9.25%. Further, the bank has hiked the rates for a period of more than two year and up to and inclusive of three years to 9.00%.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had deregulated savings deposit rates on October 25, 2011. The bank has taken this step in line with the move taken by RBI and to keep itself ahead of its competitors.
