Tata Power advances as its JV receives tariff order for its 1050 MW power plant from CERC

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 91.20, up by 1.05 points or 1.16% from its previous closing of Rs. 90.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 89.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 91.85 and Rs. 88.50 respectively. So far 69594 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Re. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 115.25 on 09-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 68.95 on 30-Jan-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 92.40 and Rs. 87.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 24382.20 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.04 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 50.93 % and 15.87 % respectively.

Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has passed the Tariff Order for the 1050 MW power plant of Maithon Power (MPL), a joint venture between Tata Power Company (74%) and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) (26%), for FY 2011-14. The new tariff would be applicable from COD for each of the generating units. This will pave the way for meeting the targeted returns from the project.
