Dalmia Bharat surges as its arm acquires remaining 26% stake in Bokaro Jaypee Cement

Dalmia Bharat is currently trading at Rs 507.25, up by 15.25 points or 3.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 492.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 504.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 508.00 and Rs. 495.00 respectively. So far 2056 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 567.00 on 18-Nov-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 125.25 on 28-Nov-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 520.00 and Rs. 482.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4077.73 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 62.80% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 14.26% and 22.94% respectively.

Dalmia Bharat’s subsidiary Company, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) through its ultimate subsidiary has acquired the balance 26% stake in Bokaro Jaypee Cement (BoJCL) from Steel Authority of India. Upon this acquisition, BoJCL will become wholly owned subsidiary of the ultimate subsidiary of Dalmia Cement (Bharat).

The total consideration for 100% acquisition of BoJCL is same as that of the earlier 74% purchased from Jaiprakash Associates i.e. aggregate Enterprise Value of Rs 1150 crores for 100% stake.

Dalmia Bharat is a cement manufacturer with plants in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh with a capacity of nine million tonnes per annum. The company is engaged in the business of cement, thermal power & other businesses.
