Asian Paints in demand on reporting 21% jump in Q3 net profit

Asian Paints is currently trading at Rs 2810.00, up by 87.75 points or 3.22% from its previous closing of Rs 2722.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 2765.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 2817.95 and Rs 2764.00 respectively. So far 4379 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 3365.95 on 04-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 2395.05 on 25-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 2817.95 and Rs 2701.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 26934.27 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.79% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.58% and 20.63% respectively.

Asian Paints has reported results for its third quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The company has posted a 21.24% rise in net profit of Rs 250.48 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 206.60 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 20.29% from Rs 1,774.95 crore for Q3FY11 to Rs 2,135.02 crore in the quarter under review.

On the consolidated basis the group has posted a net profit rise of 16.58% to Rs 256.86 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 220.33 crore in the same quarter last year. Total Income of the company improved by 21.90% to Rs 2,583.07 crore for the quarter compared to Rs 2,118.97 crore in the quarter, year ago.
