Third party causes minor damage to GAIL’s HVJ Pipeline

An incident of leakage of natural gas due to third party damage (of minor category) was reported from Hazira - Vijaipur - Jagdishpur (HVJ) pipeline of GAIL (India) near Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh). There is no case of any injury or fire because of the incident and gas supply to all customers remains unaffected.

The incident occurred because of third party damage to the pipeline when some persons were trying to drill a borewell near Ujjain - Khera Compressor station of HVJ pipeline system between Kacchibaroda -Makrawana. The leakage was reported by local patrolling personnel. Immediate action was taken to isolate the affected section of the pipeline and gas is being vented from the section. There is no impact on Natural Gas and LPG customers because of the incident as supplies are being maintained due to availability of parallel Dahej - Vijaipur (DVPL) - I and II pipelines.
