Reliance Power gains on commencing power generation from sixth and last 660 MW unit of Sasan UMPP

Reliance Power is currently trading at Rs. 63.15, up by 0.75 points or 1.20% from its previous closing of Rs. 62.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 62.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 63.80 and Rs. 62.50 respectively. So far 848806 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 113.20 on 11-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 58.40 on 17-Dec-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 63.20 and Rs. 60.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 17714.37 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.98 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 11.69 % and 13.30 % respectively.

Reliance Power has commenced power generation from the sixth and last 660 MW unit of the 3,960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP). This is a critical milestone of the boiler commissioning activities for the unit. 3300 MW (five 660 MW units) of the projects are already operating and have been performing well.  The Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project is the largest integrated power plant and coal mining project in the world. The coal production has already commenced from the 20 million tonnes Moher and Moher-Amlohri coal mines associated with the power project.
