Maruti Suzuki reports 18% rise in December production

Maruti Suzuki India, country’s largest car maker, has reported 18.21% rise in its production to 95,400 units in December 2014 as compared to 80,698 units in same month last year. Of total, the company has manufactured 38,684 vehicles under mini segment (including Alto, A Star, Wagon R), up by 6.07%, as against 36,470 vehicles manufactured in corresponding month previous year.

The company has manufactured 37,001 vehicles under compact segment, 4,056 vehicles under super compact, midsize and executive class segment, 4,934 units under utility vehicles segment and 10,725 units under vans category.

Recently, the company had registered a rise of 20.75% in its total car sales (Domestic + Export) for the month of December 2014 at 109,791 units, as against 90,924 units in December 2013. The company’s domestic sales rose by 13.27% in December 2014 at 98,109 units, as against 86,613 units in corresponding month last year.
