CESC gains as its arm synchronizes 300 MW Thermal Power Unit at Haldia

CESC is currently trading at Rs. 726.00, up by 14.85 points or 2.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 711.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 715.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 751.30 and Rs. 715.00 respectively. So far 84117 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 828.10 on 16-Sep-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 399.00 on 30-Jan-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 733.00 and Rs. 653.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9644.85 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.48 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.75 % and 7.72 % respectively.

CESC’s 100% subsidiary - Haldia Energy has synchronized the first 300 MW Thermal Power Unit of 2 x 300MW project located at Haldia in West Bengal. The company has also generated power at the station which is now flowing to Kolkata through a 84km long transmission line.

CESC is engaged in power generation and distribution in state of West Bengal. CESC is a fully integrated power utility with its operation spanning the entire value chain: right from mining coal, generating power, distribution of power.
