Kansai Nerolac rises on inking Joint Venture pact with Capital Holdings Maharaja

Kansai Nerolac Paints is currently trading at Rs. 2364.00, up by 18.35 points or 0.78% from its previous closing of Rs. 2345.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2355.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2389.95 and Rs. 2345.75 respectively. So far 3984 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2420.00 on 20-Jan-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 975.25 on 18-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2420.00 and Rs. 2202.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 12641.71 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.27% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 16.39% and 14.34% respectively.

Kansai Nerolac Paints (KNP) has entered into a Joint Venture agreement with Capital Holdings Maharaja, a group company in the Maharaja Group. Owing to Srilanka’s progressive economy, Kansai Nerolac Paints has shown significant interest in its neighboring country.

Maharaja group is a diversified group in Srilanka having presence in businesses like Media, hardware, FMCG products, etc. Maharaja group was exploring to enter paints. KNP seeks to take advantage of their strong presence in hardware outlets.

KNP now intends to start a JV by incorporating a company. The total project cost is estimated to be 65 crore SLR. The equity contribution of KNP in this proposed JV would be 60% amounting to around 39 crore SLR.
