Union Bank of India tumbles on reporting 13% fall in Q3 net profit

Union Bank of India is currently trading at Rs. 238.20, down by 13.20 points or 5.25% from its previous closing of Rs. 251.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 252.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 253.00 and Rs. 236.15 respectively. So far 357465 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 259.60 on 09-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 100.60 on 14-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 253.50 and Rs. 236.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 15226.90 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 60.47% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.28% and 12.26% respectively.

Union Bank of India has reported a fall of 13.33% in its net profit at Rs 302.42 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 348.94 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank has increased 8.39% at Rs 8921.00 crore for Q3FY15 as compared Rs 8230.17 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) increased to 5.08% in the October- December quarter as against 3.85% in the same quarter previous year, while net NPAs stood at 2.95%.
