Tata Motors' Nano enters into the Nepalese market

27 Jun 2011 Evaluate

Tata Motors has launched its small wonder car Nano in the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal. The company will be selling the car across Nepal through its authorised distributor Sipradi Trading and those authorised by it.

Tata Motors has kept the introductory price of the Nano in Nepal at 7.98 lakh Nepalese Rupee (NPR) (almost Rs 5 lakh). The introductory offer would be open for 10 days with the delivery of the first consignment scheduled in July-end and unlike in India, where the car's price varies from state to state, in Nepal, there would be one single price for a model. All the three variants of the car will be available for booking at all the 14 Sipradi owned/authorised dealers. The company is confident that with it's comfort, performance and maneuverability, Nano will win hearts of the discerning customers of Nepal.

Besides fuel efficiency and safety features, Tata's Nano will be the first car in Nepal to come with a four-year warrantee for 90,000 km and it will be the cheapest car in Nepal. Nepal becomes the second international destination for Tata Nano after Sri Lanka.

To offer car loans to buyer Sipradi has tied up with 10 Nepali banks. Buyers cab book the standard model with a down payment of NRS 10,000, the balance of payment could be made through five years at easy monthly instalments of NRS 11,111.

For last 36 years, Tata Motors has been associated with Nepal and is the third largest passenger vehicle marketer in Nepal. The company's portfolio of passenger vehicles here comprises the Indica Xeta, the Indica V2, the Indica Vista, the Indigo CS, the Manza, the Sumo, the Grande, the Safari and the Aria.
