Kirloskar Oil Engines (KOEL) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH for exclusive cooperation on the building and commissioning of emergency diesel gen-sets (EDG) for possible future requirements of Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) in India. Under this agreement, MTU Friedrichshafen, a part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems, will supply engines and key components, and take responsibility for basic engineering and gen-set configuration. KOEL will integrate the systems and assemble and test the gen-sets on site in India.
Kirloskar Oil Engines manufactures the widest range of diesel engines in India. Its other product range includes irrigation pump sets, diesel generating sets and engine bearings.
