Tata Power trades higher on the bourses

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 82.40, up by 0.30 points or 0.37% from its previous closing of Rs. 82.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 82.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 83.30 and Rs. 81.95 respectively. So far 113055 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 115.25 on 09-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 70.45 on 14-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 91.30 and Rs. 78.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 22286.11 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.04%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 51.12% and 15.68% respectively.

The largest integrated utility Tata Power has kicked off its centenary celebrations and announced investments for generating a capacity for 450 MW of hydel power from this year and commissioning of 120 MW this year itself.

The company is also planning a fresh investment to create a 450 mw hydel capacity in the honour of the group founder Jamsetji N Tata who was a strong votary of clean and cheap power, which the late leader considered as one of the basic ingredients for economic progress of a city, a state or a country.

The country’s largest integrated power company began its operations on February 9, 1915, by commissioning the country’s first large hydroelectric project with a capacity of 12 MW at Khopoli near Mumbai.
