MRF shines on reporting 80% jump in Q1 net profit

MRF is currently trading at Rs 40688.00, up by 2804.25 points or 7.40% from its previous closing of Rs. 37883.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 39550.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 40888.00 and Rs. 38001.35 respectively. So far 8295 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A ' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 41150.00 on 03-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 18701.05 on 14-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 40290.00 and Rs 35501.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16625.28 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 27.22%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.12% and 54.65% respectively.

MRF has registered a rise of 79.84% in its net profit at Rs 323.51 crore for first quarter ended December 31, 2014 as compared to Rs 179.89 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. The total income of the company increased by 5.24% at Rs 3378.63 crore for December Quarter as compared to Rs 3210.51 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

MRF is India’s No.1 tyre manufacturing company with a turnover of Rs 14,000 crore. Currently, the company exports tyres to over 80 countries including America, Europe, Middle East, Japan, and the Pacific region. The overseas market contributes to 10-12% of the company's turnover at present.
