Mahindra Satyam surges on reporting five-fold rise in Q3 net profit

Mahindra Satyam is currently trading at Rs. 78.40, up by 2.15 points or 2.82% from its previous closing of Rs. 76.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 78.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 79.90 and Rs. 77.85 respectively. So far 1403147 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 94.20 on 05-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 54.40 on 11-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 79.90 and Rs. 64.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9243.67 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.65% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.28% and 30.12% respectively. 

IT firm Mahindra Satyam has reported five-fold rise in profit after tax to Rs 308 crore for the quarter ended December 31. It had reported PAT of Rs 59 crore in the third quarter (October-December) in 2010-11.

The company’s Q3 consolidated revenue was Rs 1,718 crore, up 34% year-on-year basis. It made forex gain of Rs 66.39 crore on account of appreciating US dollar against the rupee.

Meanwhile, the total headcount at the company was 32,280 as of December 31, 2011 -- net addition of 188 employees quarter-on-quarter.

The attrition rate at the company was 16% in Q3, down from 25% in the corresponding period last year.
