Hero MotoCorp surges on reporting 12% jump in January sales

Hero MotoCorp is currently trading at Rs. 1953.00, up by 24.75 points or 1.28% from its previous closing of Rs. 1928.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1962.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1978.80 and Rs. 1953.00 respectively. So far 18009 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2248.00 on 14-Nov-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1377.95 on 23-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1978.80 and Rs. 1800.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 39238.59 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.21% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.13% and 8.66% respectively.

The country’s largest two-wheeler maker, Hero MotoCorp has reported highest-ever sales of 520,272 units for January 2012, 11.52% increase vis-a-vis the corresponding month last year. The company sold 466,524 units in January, 2011.

The company has made a good beginning to the New Year with its January performance. It is pleased with the trend of five lakh-plus unit sales every month for the past six months and is confident of building further on these numbers.

The company’s net profit for the third quarter ended December, 2011 has increased by 43% at Rs 613 crore against Rs 429 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. Total income has increased 17% to Rs 6,108 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 5,224 crore for the same quarter a year ago.
