Spicejet gains after existing promoters transfer 58.46% stake to Ajay Singh

Spicejet is currently trading at Rs. 24.35, up by 0.35 points or 1.46 % from its previous closing of Rs. 24.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 24.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 24.75 and Rs. 24.20 respectively. So far 4108275 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 24.50 on 23-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 11.10 on 13-Aug-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 24.50 and Rs. 19.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1471.65 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.46 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.46 % and 41.08 % respectively.

SpiceJet’s original promoter - Ajay Singh has finally became the owner of the company pursuant to the share sale and purchase agreement dated January 29, 2015 entered between the company, Kalanithi Maran, Kal Airways and Ajay Singh.

The entire shareholding of Kalanithi Maran and Kal Airways (the existing Promoters) aggregating to 350,428,758 equity shares or 58.46% stake of the cash-strapped carrier has been transferred to Ajay Singh on February 23, 2015.

Consequently, Ajay Singh has become the promoter of the company and Kalanithi Maran and Kal Airways have ceased to be promoters of the company.
