Adani Power rises on inking share purchase pact with APIL

Adani Power is currently trading at Rs 57.55, up by 0.55 points or 0.96% from its previous closing of Rs. 57.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 57.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 59.30 and Rs. 57.20 respectively. So far 2043785 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 68.50 on 26-May-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 34.80 on 04-Mar-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 58.60 and Rs. 54.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 16599.71 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 7.32% and 17.68% respectively.

Avantha Power & Infrastructure (APIL) has signed a binding Share Purchase Agreement with Adani Power for acquisition of APIL’s entire shareholding in Korba West Power Company (KWPCL), a subsidiary of APIL. KWPCL has commissioned a coal based thermal power plant of 600 MW and is valued in excess of Rs 4,200 crore.

APIL is a company promoted by Ballarpur Industries, Avantha Holdings and Crompton Greaves. Ballarpur Industries and its step down subsidiary, Bilt Graphic Paper Products are equity shareholders of APIL.

Ballarpur Industries is engaged in manufacturing of wide range of papers such as coated wood free, uncoated wood free, copy paper, packaging, business stationery, industrial grades and speciality and fine paper.
