Greaves Cotton spurts on selling Chennai land for Rs 80 crore

Greaves Cotton is currently trading at Rs. 89.00, up by 6.85 points or 8.34% from its previous closing of Rs. 82.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 83.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 94.70 and Rs. 81.50 respectively. So far 3,86,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 100.85 on 07-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 69.50 on 16-Nov-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 94.70 and Rs. 81.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2,173.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.58% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 36.08% and 12.33% respectively.

Greaves Cotton has sold its land situated at Old Mahabalipuram Road (Rajiv Salai) in Chennai, for a consideration of Rs 80 crore. Earlier, the company's petrol engines unit was located at the above land, which was shifted to Gummidipoondi in the year 2008.
