Bajaj Auto reports 18% drop in March sales

Bajaj Auto, the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer has registered 18% drop in total sales to 2,50,604 units in March 2015 against 3,04,317 units in March 2014. The sales of the motorcycles decreased by 22% and stood at 2,09,937 units in the month under review against 2,70,578 units in March 2014. However, the company has reported 21% surge in Commercial Vehicles sales which stood at 40,667 units as compared to 33,739 units in month of March 2014.

Meanwhile, the company’s total exports out of the above stood at 98,703 units, a decline of 16% as compared to 1,18,183 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
