Sesa Sterlite surges on completing merger of Sterlite Infra with itself

Sesa Sterlite is currently trading at Rs. 199.45, up by 4.85 points or 2.49% from its previous closing of Rs. 194.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 194.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 200.00 and Rs. 194.20 respectively. So far 326750 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 318.40 on 06-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 178.00 on 07-May-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 200.00 and Rs. 187.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 59145.65 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 59.53% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.87% and 10.14% respectively.

Vedanta Group company Sesa Sterlite has completed the merger of its subsidiary Sterlite Infra with itself. The merger is effective from April 8, 2015. Earlier, the Madras High Court had approved the scheme of amalgamation of the Sterlite Infra with the company on March 25, 2015.

Last month, another subsidiary of the company, Goa Energy was merged with it following Bombay High Court order.

Sesa Sterlite is one of the world’s largest diversified natural resource companies. Its business primarily involves exploring, extracting and processing minerals and oil & gas.
