Adani Power firms up on completing acquisition of Lanco Infratech’s Udupi Power plant

Adani Power is currently trading at Rs. 45.70, up by 0.15 points or 0.33 % from its previous closing of Rs. 45.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 46.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 46.15 and Rs. 45.30 respectively. So far 99167 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 68.50 on 26-May-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 38.80 on 17-Dec-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 50.10 and Rs. 45.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 13139.04 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 8.11 % and 16.90 % respectively.

Adani Power has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Udupi Power Corporation (UPCL) from Hyderabad based - Lanco Infratech. Deal valued at Rs 6,300 crore Udupi Power Corporation (UPCL) is a 1200 MW power plant based on imported coal and includes a captive jetty for coal imports.  This is the largest acquisition in the thermal power space in recent times. The transaction was announced earlier last year in August 2014.

Adani Power is India’s largest private sector power generation company with a current operational capacity of 9,240 MW, comprising of 4,620 MW at Mundra in Gujarat, 3,300 MW at Tiroda in Maharashtra and 1,320 MW at Kawai in Rajasthan.
