Reliance Power advances on reporting 42% growth in Q3 consolidated net profit

Reliance Power is currently trading at Rs. 105.80, up by 0.50 points or 0.47% from its previous closing of Rs. 105.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 106.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 107.00 and Rs. 103.50 respectively. So far 828174 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 137.20 on 07-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 68.50 on 21-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 108.50 and Rs. 97.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 29117.21 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 80.42% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.33% and 13.23% respectively.

Reliance Power has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The company has posted a surge of 205.79% in its net profit to Rs 106.69 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 34.89 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 91.13% to Rs 193.25 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 101.11 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.

On the consolidated basis, the company has posted a growth of 41.96% in its net profit after minority interest at Rs 203.87 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 143.61 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 89.81% at Rs 674.08 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 355.13 crore year ago.
