Corporation Bank rises on entering into MoU with New India Assurance

Corporation Bank is currently trading at Rs. 57.30, up by 0.35 points or 0.61% from its previous closing of Rs. 56.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 57.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 57.30 and Rs. 56.90 respectively. So far 286 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 83.50 on 09-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 51.80 on 31-Mar-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 60.65 and Rs. 55.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4774.94 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.33% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.19% and 7.48% respectively.

Corporation Bank, public sector lender has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New India Assurance Co for implementing the ‘Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana’. Under the scheme, the savings bank account-holders will be eligible for a cover of Rs 2 lakh at a premium of Rs 12 a year. The enrolment period for the scheme is from June 1 to May 31, 2016.

Corporation Bank has registered a rise of 16.20% in its net profit at Rs 147.21 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2014 as compared to Rs 126.69 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 5.30% at Rs 5209.54 crore for Q3FY15 as compared Rs 4947.34 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
