NMDC trades in pink of its health on BSE

NMDC is currently trading at Rs. 131.30, up by 1.50 points or 1.16% from its previous closing of Rs. 129.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 130.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 131.60 and Rs. 128.80 respectively. So far 41878 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Re. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 196.15 on 06-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 123.00 on 26-Mar-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 131.65 and Rs. 125.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 52076.54 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 80.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 16.74% and 3.26% respectively.

State-run companies National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) are planning to set up an ultra mega steel plant (UMSP) in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region.

The greenfield project had proposed at Dilmili- about 35 kms from the divisional headquarters of Bastar. The plant would have a 3 million tonne per annum capacity and would come up with an investment of Rs 18,000 crore.

Moreover, two special purpose vehicles (SPVs) would be set up, one for the project and another for the mining.

NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
