Hero MotoCorp surges on plan to invest over Rs 3,000 crore in 2 years

Hero MotoCorp is currently trading at Rs. 2381.20, up by 79.65 points or 3.46% from its previous closing of Rs. 2301.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 2345.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 2383.45 and Rs 2311.40 respectively. So far 18245 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3271.80 on 01-Dec-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2110.00 on 09-May-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2397.95 and Rs. 2252.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 47454.74 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.64% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 51.67% and 13.69% respectively.

Hero MotoCorp has lined up an initial investment of over Rs 3,000 crore in adding capacities and brand building initiatives in domestic and global markets over the next two years. This is in line with the company’s vision of expanding its global footprint to 50 countries and total annual sales of 12 million units by the year 2020.

Hero MotoCorp is the World’s single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
