Canara Bank gains on inking MoU with VECV for vocational education loans

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 362.05, up by 3.75 points or 1.05% from its previous closing of Rs. 358.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 357.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 362.50 and Rs. 352.50 respectively. So far 74763 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 498.00 on 09-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 300.75 on 14-May-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 368.45 and Rs. 339.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 18626.95 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.91% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 23.80% and 6.30% respectively.

Canara Bank, a public sector bank, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Volvo-Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) for financing vocational education loans.

Recently, the bank issued four crore fully paid-up equity shares to Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on preferential basis valued at about Rs 1,396.80 crore. The bank had passed a special resolution by its shareholders at its EGM on April 30 for issue and allotment of 4 crore equity shares to LIC.
