Tata Power in talks with lenders’ consortium to refinance Mundra UMPP loans

Tata Power is in talks with lenders’ consortium to refinance loans extended to 4,000-MW Mundra ultra mega power project (UMPP) in Gujarat. The Mundra project is being implemented by Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power. Under the 5/25 scheme, banks can extend loan repayment for a period up to 25 years, with an option of refinancing the loan every five years.

Tata Power is India's largest integrated power company with a significant international presence. The Company has an installed generation capacity of 8747 MW in India and a presence in all the segments of the power sector viz Generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), Transmission, Distribution and Trading.
