Tata Power advances on talks with lenders’ consortium to refinance Mundra UMPP loans

Tata Power is currently trading at Rs. 72.70, up by 0.60 points or 0.83% from its previous closing of Rs. 72.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 72.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 73.00 and Rs. 71.75 respectively. So far 64,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 112.10 on 08-Jul-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 68.40 on 04-Jun-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 74.60 and Rs. 69.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 19,662.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 51.06% and 15.75% respectively.

Tata Power is in talks with lenders’ consortium to refinance loans extended to 4,000-MW Mundra ultra mega power project (UMPP) in Gujarat. The Mundra project is being implemented by Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power. Under the 5/25 scheme, banks can extend loan repayment for a period up to 25 years, with an option of refinancing the loan every five years.
