IDBI Bank has inaugurated its new branch at NIMS University in Jaipur on February 19, 2012. The newly inaugurated branch would help expand IDBI bank’s retail reach and would cater to the needs and aspirations of the large number of youth in the area and in the surrounding locality. This facility would enable the customers, especially students to use banking services as per their convenience.
Recently, the public sector lender had sanctioned a loan of Rs 5,000 crore to Reliance Infrastructure-backed discom BSES. The company was going to use the amount to pay up its outstanding dues to a number of power generation and transmission utilities.
IDBI Bank has a large portfolio of MSME sector units and is desirous of expanding its lending to this MSME sector in view of the fact that this sector is a key driver of Indian economy in terms of contribution to GDP, employment and exports and also the pronouncements in the Government's MSME policy.
