Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have reduced their stake in Hero Motocorp by 232 basis points to 38.45 percent at the end of June 2015 from 40.77 percent as on March 31, 2015. However, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) have raised their shareholding in the company by 255 basis points to 13.44 percent at the end of June 2015 from 10.89 percent as on March 31, 2015.
Non Institutions were holding 13.47 percent stake at the end of June 2015, down 23 basis points from 13.7 percent as on March 31, 2015, while corporate bodies were holding 1.61 percent stake at the end of June 2015, down 15 basis points from 1.76 percent as on March 31, 2015.

Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
