Lanco Infratech leads the gainer list of ‘BSE Power’ space

Lanco Infratech is currently trading at Rs. 21.25, up by 0.40 points or 1.92% from its previous closing of Rs. 20.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 21.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 21.90 and Rs. 20.85 respectively. So far 1,60,57,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 45.10 on 07-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 8.50 on 19-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 24.70 and Rs. 18.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5116.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 72.31% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 13.89% and 13.80% respectively.

Lanco Infratech is planning to install additional thermal power capacity of about 4,000 MW. In this regard, the company will invest Rs 22,000 crore by March 2015.

At present, the company has an installed power generation capacity of 4,400 MW and it is developing three projects, each having a capacity of 1,320 MW. These plants along with some hydro projects would take the company's total power generation capacity to more than 9,000 MW.

Recently, the company has announced that it is likely to raise up to $750 million in the next six months to part-finance its 4,500 MW ongoing capacity expansions.

Lanco, which has presence in various sectors, including EPC, power and infrastructure, saw its consolidated net profit slide 63% to Rs 60.92 crore in the three months ended December 2011.
