Hero Honda Motors Ltd., won’t raise prices to counter an increase in taxes. Price rise will be in line with what competition is doing. Rising sales volumes will help the company absorb the increase in government levies. The company is delivering consistently and larger volumes are kicking in the operational efficiencies. So, the pressure of rising input costs can be mitigated. Hero Honda’s sales rose 16 percent to 382,096 units in February. Carmakers including Fiat India Automobiles Ltd., a joint venture between Italy’s Fiat SpA and Tata Motors Ltd., Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., raised prices on Feb. 26.
